Outlook

This page shows how to add your BrilliantCloud email address to Outlook. Select the tab for the version you use.

Before you begin

Have your full email address and mailbox password ready.

Windows has two versions of Outlook. Open the app and look at the top of the window: if there is a toggle labelled New Outlook, use the tab that matches.

If you do not have the password, set a new one in Email on the Manage page of your subscription.

Add your email address

  1. Open Outlook.
  2. Click the gear icon to open Settings.
  3. Go to Accounts › Email accounts › Add account.
  4. Enter your email address and click Continue.
  5. Choose IMAP when Outlook asks for the account type.
  6. Enter these values:
    • Incoming server: yourdomain.com, port 993, SSL/TLS
    • Outgoing server: yourdomain.com, port 465, SSL/TLS
    • Username: your full email address
  7. Enter your mailbox password and click Continue.
  1. Open Outlook.
  2. Go to File › Add Account.
  3. Enter your email address, click Advanced options and select Let me set up my account manually.
  4. Click Connect, then choose IMAP.
  5. Enter these values:
    • Incoming mail: yourdomain.com, port 993, SSL/TLS
    • Outgoing mail: yourdomain.com, port 465, SSL/TLS
  6. Click Next, enter your mailbox password and click Connect.
  1. Open Outlook.
  2. In the menu bar, choose Tools › Accounts.
  3. Click + › Add an email account.
  4. Enter your email address and click Continue.
  5. If Outlook asks you to choose a provider, select IMAP.
  6. Enter these values:
    • Incoming server: yourdomain.com, port 993, SSL/TLS
    • Outgoing server: yourdomain.com, port 465, SSL/TLS
    • Username: your full email address
  7. Enter your mailbox password, click Add Account, then Done.
  1. Open Outlook.
  2. Tap your profile picture, then the gear icon to open Settings.
  3. Tap Add Mail Account › Add Email Account.
  4. Enter your email address and tap Add Account.
  5. Tap Set Up Account Manually and choose IMAP.
  6. Turn on Advanced Settings and enter these values:
    • IMAP host name: yourdomain.com, port 993, SSL
    • SMTP host name: yourdomain.com, port 465, SSL
    • Username: your full email address, for both incoming and outgoing
  7. Enter your mailbox password and tap the checkmark to finish.

After setup

Send a message to yourself to check that sending and receiving both work.

Changed your mind?

Removing the account from Outlook does not delete the mailbox or its messages. You can add it again at any time.
